Sunday's Sermon

Our Mission

is to be Christ centered, teaching and learning community, dedicated to reaching out to all in a spirit of caring and sharing, a community where growth in Christ inspires us to be joyful sharing people.

Weekly Devotion

All things bright and beautiful
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful,
The Lord God made them all.”

I’m not a superstitious person but the thought has occurred to me that my last week’s reporting of a young raccoon in the backyard might just have been the encouragement he needed to take up his permanent residence under the evergreen tree in the backyard.

I say this because I’ve seen him so many times since. For some reason he likes to stop right outside the window where I work. I could reach out my hand and touch him if the window was open.

Then yesterday, to my astonishment, a fox trotted by this self-same window and paused for me to get a good look at her. Then she scurried over to the neighbor’s backyard. But that caused her cub to come out of the bushes and this beautiful creature stood right in front of me watching where mom was going with her large tawny eyes. She was so cute!

And, finally, this morning. Most of you know I’m an early riser. I wake before dawn and there’s nothing I can do about that. But the upside is that I’m awake to hear the morning cacophony of the birds greeting the dawn. They start up as the sky begins to lighten; cawing, trilling, warbling for the joy of the day, I suppose. This morning I even heard the hoot, hoot, hooting of an owl joining the chorus.

Happy May Day, my friends. Spring is in full bloom and we're halfway to summer. The days are growing longer, the weather is warmer and more wildlife and humans alike are out and about.

And the Lord God loves us all.

Yours in the journey,
Pastor Kristen

While masks will not be required, those who feel more comfortable masked are invited to do so. We ask, as a good faith effort, that if you have not been vaccinated or if you are feeling a bit under the weather, that you personally chose to wear a mask while in the church buildings.
