In these troubled times, there’s no shortage of reasons to feel stressed or anxious. Certainly our world has changed with regard to the number of stressful situations to which we are exposed; demands on our personal and professional lives, fears related to the well-being of our families and our community - all coupled with nonstop world and national news, with much of it bad.

Anxiety is at an all time high. It’s been reported that the average high school student today has the same level of anxiety as the average psychiatric patient in the early 1950s.

These days, we are experiencing hardships and stress; we are all very well-acquainted with that pit that forms in our stomach when nervousness takes hold.

For these reasons and more, Crete United Methodist Church have created a space for meditation, quiet and prayer, regardless of your faith or lack of it. The doors off the parking lot will be open from 5-7pm on Wednesday nights through October 10th.  You are invited to come when you like and go when you want.

Do you need a place where you can leave the world behind you? Do you need somewhere for a few moments to let the world pass you by? Do you need time to free yourself from stress, pressure and worry?

Our doors are open to everybody, no matter who you are. You will be greeted at the door, you can go and find a quiet corner where you can just sit free from pressure. Nobody will bother you. Nobody will approach you about God or religion.

May we offer you a place of sanctuary in the midst of these uneasy days.  It’s your time to spend as you wish, leaving the world outside at the door.

September 12  thru October 10

Wednesday nights, from 5-7:00 p.m.
